TODAY’S STORY:
Hazel’s Teddy Bear Picnic
Hazel watched her dad and brother leave for school.
I wish I could go, she thought. This is the worst day ever to miss!
Today was the day of the Teddy Bear Picnic her class had planned for weeks.
There would be treats and decorations, and best of all everyone got to bring their favorite teddy bear. But oh no, she had a fever and had to stay home!
In "Hazel's Teddy Bear Picnic," Hazel learns that Faith is more than just the name of her teddy bear. She learns about the Shield of Faith and how to trust God in hard times.
"And we know that God works all things together for the good
of those who love Him, who are called according to his purpose."
Romans 8:28
Meet Barb Seregi
Barb Seregi is a Christ-follower from Kansas City. She is a mother of two and grandmother of four. Years ago, after completing Priscilla Shirer’s Bible study on the Armor of God, all she could think of was the different pieces of the armor and what each meant. Those pieces gave her a confidence she’d never had. One evening, while reading picture books to her friend’s kids (the real Oliver and Hazel), she excitedly imagined how the Armor of God could give kids confidence, too. So, after many prayers and support from family and friends, Barb launched the book series (each book highlights one piece of Armor) to teach kids the concept of putting on the full Armor of God while still young. She hopes that knowing what the Armor does will give them the confidence when facing trials she wished she would have had!

Loved this and perfect for my little ones to understand. I will be saving this series for our Armor of God unit.
Barb, I love this story and its sweet message of faith. I especially enjoyed listening to you read it. And what kid wouldn't love a Teddy Bear Picnic? I love how you weave the biblical analogy of "the shield of faith" into an experience that kids can relate to. Thank you for sharing! (Already reviewed, so can't review again ... or I would. LOL. )
